Singapore PGA Professionals Seminar - Alexandra Hospital and Keppel Country Club - May 2008
After working with Kim Baldwin, the Head Coach of the Singapore Sports Council elite golf squad, on the first day in Singapore, Michael and Rob convened a PGA Professionals workshop at the Alexandra Hospital. In the afternoon, a specific testing session was run at the Keppel Club. The PGA Professionals were enthusiastic in their interest in the integration of 3D kinematic measurement and physical interventions to improve their coaching outcomes. Rob presented material covering the current differences in the 3D assessment equipment and how they are used to assist coaches. Michael introduced the group to the concept of the TGA Schema for technical/fault analysis for the principal physical problems seen by coaches on a daily basis.
An informative session on how to get the best out of the coaches' video assessment was well received. The afternoon practical session, where Mark Lazenby (Singapore Island Country Club), Andrew Welsford (Head Professional SICC) and Kim Baldwin (SSC Elite Squad) were tested afforded the participants the opportunity to experience first hand the practical application of the morning theory.
Each participant left with before and after 3D reports from Dr Neal using the Golf Biodynamics system and with electronic copies of their individual exercise interventions from Michael Dalgleish.
