Screening
The Golf Athlete is in the process of developing an online screening system for Players, Coaches and Physiotherapists. The system will guide individuals through a series of questionnaires to generate a report showing areas for improvement, requirements for physiotherapy intervention and suggest relevant Strength & Conditioning or athletic development programs.
The technical content of the report generated will be dependant on the questionnaire completed. The relationship to how physical attributes may affect technical improvement will be a hallmark of this reporting process.
The Players report will give an overview of potential issues that the player should discuss with their coach and/or physiotherapist to allow them to quickly identify where they can help and adjust their approach to the individual concerned.
The Coaches report will be more technical in relation to the golf swing and explain how the player may be restricted in certain movements due to the players current physical abilities, allowing the coach to tailor his tuition according to the individual players current restrictions.
The Physiotherapists report will contain more medically orientated detail giving a good understanding on how physical restrictions of an individual relate to his or her ability to improve their golf game and understand the interventions that he can make that will impact on the individual player.
This screening process will benefit all levels of golfers by allowing players to understand where their physical limitations are and how they relate to their golf swings. They can then either ask their coaches to work around any limitations or, better still, start a Strength & conditioning program tailored to their specific weaknesses including possible physiotherapist intervention to speed up the process.
Watch this space - please register on the site and we will let you know when the screening system is up and running....
