Dec 14, 2008 - Private Client Testing with Henriette Thoegersen - Copenhagen
After a hectic four days testing with the DGU squads in Ikast and Copenhagen and the four days of Level I and II seminars at the Furosoe Golf Club, the TGA Team were hosted by Copenhagen Golf Centre Head Professional, Henriette Thoegersen and her husband, Anders Linnet. Anders is the head greenkeeper at a neighbourhood golf club to their residence in Tune. The Team spent a great three days with the couple - there is always plenty of fun, laughter and international banter whenever the Team spend time with the colourful, Anders.
Following a quiet day recovering and getting on top of paperwork, emails and reports, Rob and Michael played golf with Anders at Furosoe Golf Club. In a move designed to put Rob off his game, Anders first drove the boys to the Copenhagen Golf Club which was closed for renovations, that had to be held up, after archeologists discovered remains of a very early Viking settlement. Next he got the pair lost trying to find Furoesoe, while the whole time Rob with his 50+ year old spine was wedged in the back seat of Anders "race car". Suffice to say that Rob never recovered from a disasterous first hole "8" and this combined with no warm up, foreign clubs, no yardage books and 18 holes carrying the clubs - put paid to any serious chance either had of threatening Anders for the spoils of the day. Both boys agreed that next time there would be no AMBUSH - so BRING ON THE REMATCH ANDERS!!
The next day was spent in private testing with Henriette's clients in the Winter Training Facility at Ander's Golf Club - GolfKlubben Hedeland. After near freezing conditions on the range at CKC the previous year both Henriette and Karen agreed that the warmth of the indoor facility was common sense - I do believe that both Michael and Rob agreed. The private clients included Michael Thorsoe, Soren Lehmann and Sophie Silberbrandt (and her father). Michael had missed the previous year's assessments and biofeedback sessions due to a major shoulder problem though he still attended at CKC to observe. He was first to book in this year and it was pleasingly for both Henriette and Michael to record the positive improvements in his game. The Team would like to thank the players for their dedication and the manner in which they have worked over the 12 months - the improvements were substantial and a good trend for the future.

The Team was fortunate too, to test a very good young player, Nicolai Hansen who is a prodigous talent. He has a great deal of talent and all agreed that they wish him every success trying to find the technical and mental competitive edge that he requires to seriously threaten on the world stage - if this is where he wishes to go.
At the end of the day Anders Linnet squeezed in for a quick review and, later, a physical assessment with Michael. His progress despite the lack of consistent practice was pleasingly. He had taken umbrage at Michael's comments, the previous year, about the over development of the "pushing" muscles over his "pulling" muscles - and has worked tirelessly this year to improve his overall body balance and prove to Michael that he could be the supreme golf athlete. The Team agreed that he has made substantial improvement in his physical condition and the trend needs to continue - GOOD WORK ANDERS!
None of this would have happened without the invitation and foresight of Henriette. The Team is in agreement that she is potentially one of the best female PGA Professionals that they have involvement with. She continues to pursue education in all aspects of the game and with Anders Dahl Christiansen (Danish Men's Coach), is the only person to have attended every education forum that TGA and Golf Biodynamics have run in the four years of yearly visits. We wish her every success in the future and would like to personally thank her for her on-going support with the private client testing sessions.
Finally, a very big and sincere thank you to both Anders and Henriette for their hospitality and generosity - the accomodation is wonderful and the food plentiful and special. Their only regret is having to watch Anders eat more than anyone on the planet bar Michael Phelps - you have to see it to believe it!! In saying this they can't wait for next year and the next instalment.
